Who can take part

  • You have sensorineural hearing loss, meaning hearing loss from the inner-ear/nerve (not just sound-conducting issues).
  • You are scheduled for cochlear implant surgery using the CI422 electrode.
  • Your inner-ear/ear structure looks normal on evaluation (no cochlear abnormality).
  • You do not have auditory neuropathy, a condition where the hearing nerve signal is disrupted despite hearing testing showing mixed results.
