Study sedative effects on ongoing brain inflammation after severe COVID

Who can take part

  • You’re an adult (18–74 years old).
  • You had COVID confirmed by a lab test (PCR) from a nose or lung sample.
  • You were in the ICU for COVID-related ARDS and needed a breathing machine and deep sedation for at least 24 hours.
  • You have a specific gene test result for the study tracer, or you may not be eligible.
  • You can undergo PET and MRI scans, and there are no scan-related safety problems.
  • You have no major exclusions like pregnancy/breast-feeding, severe kidney problems, or certain serious brain history (stroke, severe head injury, dementia with loss of independence).
