Who can take part

  • You (or your child’s parents/guardians) can give permission and do not object to participation
  • Your child weighs under 20 kg and is a newborn, infant, or child
  • Your child is currently in the pediatric/neonatal intensive care unit at Trousseau Hospital
  • Your care plan includes doing a brain MRI angiography (MRA)
  • If your child was treated with ECMO: they had breathing/circulation failure, used ECMO with a neck-vessel setup, and were taken off ECMO and survived
  • If your child was not on ECMO: they must have been diagnosed at birth with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (brain injury after low oxygen)
