Who can take part

  • You have had a stroke such as cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage, or subarachnoid hemorrhage
  • If you have an adrenal incidentaloma (adrenal growth found by chance), it must be at least 1 cm
  • The adrenal finding must be an adenoma (not a cyst, hemorrhage, or myelolipoma)
  • You do not have metastatic cancer that has spread
  • In the past 3 months, you have not taken repeated (more than one dose) by-mouth steroid medicine
  • You have not used inhaled steroids or medicines that affect dexamethasone breakdown, and you are not on systemic estrogen
