Who can take part
- Be between 45 and 80 years old and have been approved for carotid artery stenting after a neurological check
- Expect to live more than 6 months
- Be able to safely get a diffusion-weighted MRI (brain MRI) as part of the study
- Agree to sign an ethics-approved consent form and attend all required follow-up visits
- Not be in another device or drug study that could affect the results
- No recent stroke within 30 days and no recent heart attack within 72 hours before the stent
