Who can take part

  • You must be age 18 or older
  • You must be undergoing evaluation for surgery for medication-resistant epilepsy or a brain tumor
  • You must have electrodes already implanted to find where seizures start (seizure focus)
  • You must be able to consent and follow study instructions and tasks
  • For main analysis, you should have IQ 80 or higher and no major problems with reading, naming, or speaking
  • You must not have brain damage that affects the brain areas where recordings happen
