This Phase 2 trial tests whether adding chemotherapy can help people with EGFR-mutated lung cancer when their cancer-related blood test (liquid biopsy for EGFR DNA) is still positive after 3–4 weeks of starting osimertinib. It may help slow the cancer for longer by treating any remaining disease activity.

Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older and have stage IIIB or IV non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
  • Your tumor must have an EGFR mutation called Ex19del or L858R
  • You must start osimertinib 80 mg once daily as your first treatment (or have started it within the last 28 days)
  • You must have recent CT or MRI scans of your chest and abdomen within the last 42 days
  • You must have a persistent positive EGFR blood test (liquid biopsy) 21–28 days after starting osimertinib
