Who can take part

  • You have type 2 diabetes, confirmed by a blood test.
  • You are between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 25 and 40.
  • Your average blood sugar (HbA1c) is between 7% and 10%.
  • You have been diagnosed with moderate to severe fatty liver (with or without some liver scarring).
  • You are not taking insulin and have been on metformin for less than 3 months.
