Who can take part

  • You’re between 20 and 65 years old.
  • You have at least 6 years of education and can complete all memory/thinking tests.
  • You have an adrenal lesion (spot on the adrenal gland) that is at least 1 cm.
  • You were told it is an adrenal adenoma that is “non-functioning,” but you still have autonomous cortisol secretion (cortisol is acting on its own).
  • You must be able to have MRI scans (no metal implants that prevent MRI, and you’re not too claustrophobic).
  • In the past 3 months, you have not taken steroid medicines or other drugs that change steroid production or breakdown.
  • You do not have conditions like active cancer, recent serious infection (within 1 month), brain injury/stroke problems, or specific adrenal hormone disorders (Cushing syndrome/disease, primary hyperaldosteronism, or pheochromocytoma).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
