Who can take part

  • You have diabetes and need screening for diabetic retinopathy
  • If you have type 1 diabetes: you’ve had it for at least 3 years and you’re age 11 or already in puberty
  • If you have type 2 diabetes: you qualify based on the diabetes diagnosis
  • To be in the main (extra) group: you’re ages 8–21 and you already have a known diabetic retinopathy diagnosis
  • You should not have had a diabetic eye exam in the last 12 months
