- Your baby was born at 36 weeks or later (full-term or near full-term)
- Your baby is being treated with standard supportive care for breathing/oxygen problems around birth
- Your baby shows signs of significant brain injury after birth (based on test scores or exam findings within the first 1–6 hours)
- A parent or legal representative can sign consent for the study
- Your baby was not admitted to the hospital more than 12 hours after birth
