Who can take part

  • You have COPD and you do not currently smoke (or quit more than 6 months ago).
  • Your COPD is considered moderate to severe and has been stable (no flare-ups for over 6 weeks).
  • You are not doing structured exercise training or pulmonary rehabilitation right now.
  • You do not have certain blood-clot or heart/brain circulation problems (like a history of deep vein thrombosis, stroke, heart attack, or significant heart failure).
  • You are not taking blood thinners (anticoagulant medicines).
  • You have no physical limitations that prevent you from being active, and they can get the needed blood-vessel ultrasound measurements.
