Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older
  • You have non-obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with thickened heart muscle (wall thickness at least 15 mm) not caused by other diseases like uncontrolled high blood pressure, valve problems, or storage diseases
  • You have symptoms or heart strain, such as at least NYHA class II, a past history of NYHA class II, high BNP/Pro-BNP blood test levels, or non-sustained fast rhythm on a recent heart recording
  • Your heart pumping strength (ejection fraction) is 50% or higher
  • Your heart’s outflow blockage is not too high (LVOT gradient 30 mmHg or less at rest or during certain maneuvers)
  • You can understand study information and do required tests (including an exercise test) and can communicate in Danish
