Who can take part
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You need to have high blood pressure, with your systolic (top) number between 140 and 170.
- A test must show that the muscle of your heart's main pumping chamber is thickened (called left ventricular hypertrophy).
- You need to have at least one additional risk factor, such as diabetes, reduced kidney function, or evidence of heart strain.
- You cannot have a pacemaker or implantable defibrillator, and you should not have had a recent heart attack or stroke.
- You must be able to have an MRI scan of your heart (called cardiac MRI).
