Who can take part
- You must be older than 18.
- You must have newly diagnosed multiple myeloma confirmed by bone marrow findings (or a biopsy-proven tumor in a specific spot) and evidence of active disease.
- You must have measurable disease (for example, enough abnormal protein in urine, blood, or abnormal free light chains).
- You must not be able to get high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplant due to health or frailty, such as heart/lung/other major problems.
- Your general health function must be good enough (ECOG 0–2) and key lab tests must be adequate (blood counts, liver, and kidney function).
