This study tests whether a specific lower-body exercise method using negative pressure (leg suction) can improve symptoms and heart-related function in people with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). You may also be offered screening if you are a healthy person, to compare results.

Who can take part
- Be an adult (for either the HFpEF group or healthy control group)
- If you have HFpEF: your heart pumping strength is at least 50% on an ultrasound (echocardiogram)
- If you have HFpEF: you have mild to moderate symptoms (NYHA class II–III) and can walk and do cycling exercise
- Have stable heart medicines for at least 2 months and be medically stable for about 3 months
- For the HFpEF group: have blood test marker changes (NT-proBNP) and ultrasound signs of a “stiff” heart filling problem
- You must be able to safely do cycle exercise and have good-quality heart ultrasound images
