Who can take part
- Be an adult age 65 or older who has HFpEF (heart failure symptoms plus ejection fraction 50% or higher)
- You are currently taking a beta-blocker
- Your HFpEF is not mainly caused by certain heart valve or heart sac conditions (like severe aortic stenosis or constrictive pericarditis)
- You do not have reasons you must take a beta-blocker for other medical problems (like recent heart attack/heart bypass, certain serious rhythm problems, or very recent rapid heart/rhythm hospitalizations)
- Your condition should be stable: no heart failure hospitalization in the last 30 days and no major medication/procedure changes in the last 14 days
