Telehealth therapy schedule for stroke-related aphasia patients

Who can take part

  • You had a stroke affecting the left side of your brain, and your aphasia has lasted more than 6 months
  • Testing shows you struggle on at least 2 of 8 parts of an aphasia language test
  • You can join sessions from home using a computer and high-speed internet (telehealth)
  • You do not have another brain disease that is causing new or worsening symptoms over time (progressive neurological disease)
  • You don’t have major language understanding problems that are too severe for the study
  • You don’t have substance use problems that aren’t under control
  • Your mood or behavior issues (if any) are stable enough that you don’t need specialized mental health care right now
