Who can take part

  • You have Parkinson’s disease (or a probable Parkinson’s diagnosis) confirmed by standard criteria
  • You are age 40 or older
  • Your thinking tests and dementia rating must be in the eligible range (MoCA 17–30; CDR below 1)
  • You have clinically significant apathy for at least 4 weeks (happening often and with moderate to marked severity)
  • Your Parkinson’s medicines have not changed in the last month, and related meds are stable as required
  • You and your main caregiver must speak and read English well, and your caregiver can attend visits
