Preventing hearing damage from IV amikacin in NTM patients

Who can take part

  • You are 18 to under 80 years old and can sign consent yourself
  • You have a lung NTM infection that normally needs IV amikacin, and it’s expected to last at least 30 days
  • You can follow daily study steps and take any oral medicines as instructed
  • You can use effective contraception (or no sex) during treatment and for a set time after the last dose
  • Your recent antibiotic and amikacin history fit the study rules (no aminoglycoside exposure in the last 6 months)
  • Your heart rhythm and ear exams are safe for the study (specific ECG limits and no major ear problems)
