Who can take part

  • You have, or likely have, a diffuse brain glioma on scans (tumor about 3 cm or larger) that surgeons plan to treat with surgery
  • You are already planning to have tumor surgery as part of routine care at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota
  • Your tumor size/location should allow doctors to target about half with ultrasound while leaving some nearby brain tissue untouched for surgery
  • You can provide written consent to join the study and for added tissue/blood sample banking (biorepository) during the procedure
  • Your overall health function is good enough for the trial (ECOG 0, 1, or 2), and you’re able/willing to undergo surgery
  • You may need to use specific imaging/monitoring medicine (Definity®) and must not have contraindications to it

Ultrasound to Open Brain Barrier in Brainstem Tumor Treatment
