Who can take part

  • You have a diagnosis of small blood vessel disease in the brain, such as hypertensive deep perforator arteriolopathy, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, or another genetic/sporadic small vessel disease (like CADASIL).
  • Your condition must be clinically symptomatic (for example: brain bleed, stroke, memory/thinking problems) or show more severe findings on brain scans.
  • If you have cerebral amyloid angiopathy, you may qualify if you meet recognized criteria and have symptoms such as brain bleeding, “amyloid spells,” cognitive impairment, or a higher burden of certain scan findings.
  • If you have hypertensive deep perforator disease, you may qualify if you have symptoms (including brain bleed or stroke) or more severe scan findings.
  • You should have an expected lifespan of at least 6 months from causes other than the small vessel disease, and you can realistically attend follow-up visits.
