Testing nerve recordings to improve facial pain rhizotomy

This study looks at special nerve testing (nerve recordings) in adults who are scheduled for a procedure called percutaneous rhizotomy for facial pain. The goal is to see whether these recordings can help improve how the procedure works and affects pain.

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older
  • You have a percutaneous rhizotomy procedure already scheduled for facial pain
  • Your facial pain is clearly from trigeminal neuralgia (TGN), not an unclear cause
  • Your rhizotomy procedure is not canceled
  • You do not have a history of facial pain conditions (like TMD or TGN), migraine, or other long-term pain disorders (such as fibromyalgia, IBS, CRPS)
