- You are 18 years old or older.
- You are about to start VA ECMO (a heart-and-lung support machine) for cardiogenic shock or ECPR.
- You are being enrolled in the EXCEL Registry (HREC Project 534/18).
- You are not already on ECMO right now.
- Your hospital has enough resources to complete the study paperwork and follow-up.
