Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You are about to start VA ECMO (a heart-and-lung support machine) for cardiogenic shock or ECPR.
  • You are being enrolled in the EXCEL Registry (HREC Project 534/18).
  • You are not already on ECMO right now.
  • Your hospital has enough resources to complete the study paperwork and follow-up.
