Who can take part

  • You have ER-positive, HER2-negative metastatic breast cancer with a PIK3CA mutation
  • You are planning to start alpelisib and fulvestrant (for your cancer) soon
  • You are age 18 to 85 and can do daily activities at a level the study considers OK (ECOG 0–2)
  • You can understand the study and agree to sign informed consent
  • You do not have major stomach or gut problems that could affect how alpelisib is absorbed
  • Your diabetes, if present, must not be poorly controlled (HbA1c must be 8% or lower) and you should not be on insulin
