Who can take part

  • You have an ongoing seizure emergency called nonconvulsive or focal status epilepticus, even after at least 2 seizure medicines
  • You are in an ICU with continuous scalp EEG monitoring (stick-on electrodes on the head)
  • A legally authorized representative can sign an informed consent form for you
  • You do not have an implanted brain device used to treat epilepsy
  • You are not pregnant
  • In the last 24 hours, you have not started another investigational drug or procedure
