Who can take part

  • You are 19 years old or older.
  • You have symptomatic persistent atrial fibrillation and need catheter ablation because symptoms continue despite anti-arrhythmia medicines, or because your scar area meets specific scan thresholds.
  • Your doctors can create a high-quality 3D electrical map during the procedure so your scar (LVA) burden can be measured.
  • You can safely take blood thinners (heparin during the procedure and/or oral anticoagulation).
  • You do NOT have certain heart and health limits (examples: very enlarged left atrium size, prior AF ablation/surgery, a heart blood clot, very weak heart pumping, major valve disease, or recent stroke/heart attack).
