Who can take part
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have elective open-heart surgery through a chest incision (sternotomy or thoracotomy)
- Be able to take vericiguat (or not be intolerant to it)
- Not be taking other similar blood-vessel medicines or certain erection medicines (PDE-5 inhibitors)
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding
- No severe kidney problems or recent kidney dialysis (kidney replacement therapy)
