Who can take part

  • You are between 14 and 80 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with refractory status epilepticus (seizures that don't stop after two or more anti-seizure medicines and at least one anesthetic).
  • You can have EEG monitoring (a test that records brain activity).
  • You or a family member can sign a consent form agreeing to join the trial.
  • You do not have unstable vital signs (like very low blood pressure, slow heart rate, or low oxygen).
  • You do not have a severe skull injury, skull defect, or metal or electronic implants in your head or body (like a pacemaker or vagus nerve stimulator).
  • You are not pregnant.
