Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older and currently in the ICU.
- You started breathing support in the ICU within the last 36 hours.
- You may be either on an invasive breathing machine, non-invasive breathing support, or receiving no ventilatory support (based on the study group).
- You are not expected to be taken off the breathing machine within 24 hours of screening.
- You have not already had an SBT test yet, and you do not have a known neuromuscular (nerve/muscle) disease.
