Who can take part
- You have a below-elbow (trans-radial) amputation on one side.
- Your prosthetist says you’re a good candidate for a myoelectric prosthesis with pattern-recognition control.
- You are 18 years or older and can read/speak English fluently.
- You have not used pattern-recognition control for a prosthesis before.
- Your amputation site is fully healed (no unhealed wounds), and your skin can handle small sensor pads.
- You don’t have major untreated brain/cognitive, nerve, or limb movement problems that would prevent full participation, and your pain is controlled enough for study visits.
