Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You have narrowing in at least one brain or neck artery that is between 50% and 99% blocked, confirmed by previous imaging.
- You do not have other causes of artery narrowing like a tear in the artery wall (dissection) or moyamoya disease.
- You can safely have an MRI: you are not claustrophobic, do not have a pacemaker, and do not have any metal implants like stents or non-removable dental work that could be unsafe in the stronger 5.0T MRI.
- You have no allergy to gadolinium (the MRI contrast dye).
- Your liver and kidney function are normal.
- You have not had any prior stent or balloon treatment in your arteries.
