MRI study comparing blood thinners after a certain stroke

Who can take part

  • You must already be enrolled in the CAPTIVA stroke trial
  • Your stroke must have happened within the last 30 days and not have caused lasting severe disability
  • Your stroke needs to be linked to 70–99% narrowing in specific brain arteries (ICA, MCA, BA, or VA)
  • You must be able to get a baseline MRI within 14 days of starting CAPTIVA
  • You must be able and willing to have MRI scans (no MRI safety problems like certain pacemakers)
  • You must not have a gadolinium contrast allergy and must not have very poor kidney function (eGFR under 30)
