Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older, and you have locally advanced rectal cancer that is likely to be hard to remove with clear margins without chemoradiotherapy
  • Your pelvic MRI shows the tumor or lymph node is within 2 mm of the mesorectal fascia and/or has N2 lymph node involvement
  • No metastatic (spread) cancer is seen on CT scans of the chest and abdomen
  • You can have MRI (no MRI-incompatible devices, and you can tolerate the scan)
  • You completed 4 to 6 cycles of mFOLFIRINOX as required in the appropriate treatment plan, and your general status is ECOG 0–1
  • Your blood tests, pregnancy status (if applicable), and organ health must meet the study cutoffs, and you must be able to follow all visits and procedures
