Kidney-protecting treatment for high-risk upper urinary tract cancer

Who can take part

  • You are able to do most daily activities (ECOG 0 to 2).
  • Your tumor tests positive for the biomarker HER2 (any level from 0 to 3+).
  • You have been diagnosed with high-risk upper urinary tract urothelial cancer on scans and have had a biopsy or brushing sample from the urinary tract.
  • Your cancer is considered high-risk (for example, swelling of the kidney from blockage, tumor size ≥2 cm, high-grade tumor, multiple tumors seen in urine tests, or certain past bladder cancer history), and it has not spread to distant organs (M0).
  • You need kidney protection now because your kidney function is reduced (eGFR under 60) and you want to protect your kidney.
  • You can take study treatment safely: basic blood/clotting tests are acceptable, you’re not pregnant/breastfeeding, and you can avoid certain medicines like steroids and live vaccines around treatment.
