Who can take part

  • Be between 18 and 80 years old
  • Have quadriplegia (paralysis of arms and legs) from a spinal cord injury, brainstem stroke, ALS, or similar motor nerve problems
  • Your brain’s movement area must be functioning on testing, with no major other physical or functional brain problems
  • Your condition should be diagnosed for at least 12 months and stable for at least 6 months after standard treatment
  • Have normal thinking/memory and be able and willing to follow all study visits and instructions
