Who can take part

  • You have a C4–C6 spinal cord injury (tetraplegia) that is not from a neurodegenerative disease or active cancer
  • Your injury happened more than 1 year ago
  • You are able to undergo surgery and have medical clearance from your doctor and the study team
  • You can give informed consent and have stable support at home (including a caregiver who can monitor you during the study)
  • You can travel to the study site up to 3 days per week for the duration of the study
  • Your pain is well controlled without narcotic pain medicines
