Who can take part

  • You have an illness that causes quadriplegia, such as spinal cord injury, stroke affecting the brainstem, or motor neuron disease
  • Your quadriplegia can be complete or incomplete (some movement may still be present)
  • You live within a 3-hour drive of the study site
  • You should be able to see a computer monitor for extended periods even with your usual glasses or contacts
  • You cannot be taking long-term steroid or immunosuppressing medicine by mouth or through an IV
  • You should not have other serious health problems that could make study participation unsafe
