Who can take part

  • You are the right age: 8, 9, or 10 years old (with some exceptions by sex/group).
  • You’re in one of these risk groups: an older sibling/twin/parent with AIS, or you have 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11.2DS).
  • A physical exam shows no scoliosis signs right now (forward-bending test and a measurement under a 7° threshold).
  • A parent/legal guardian can give written consent for the study.
  • You can safely have an MRI scan (no MRI contraindications).
