  • You have paralysis from a cervical spinal cord injury, brainstem stroke, or ALS
  • You can give informed consent and follow instructions (with a translator if needed)
  • You have surgical clearance and expect to live more than 12 months
  • You can travel to the study site up to 5 days per week during the study
  • You have a caregiver who can check the incision area and notice behavior changes daily
