Who can take part
- You are age 18 or older and are in the emergency room or ICU for shock
- Your systolic blood pressure is 90 or lower when you arrive, and you’re still receiving standard shock treatment
- Your blood lactate level is greater than 2.0 mmol/L, suggesting hypovolemic shock
- You are not pregnant
- You did not have CPR before joining the study, and there is no “do not resuscitate” order
- You are not in another medication/intervention study, and you don’t have major ongoing illnesses like sepsis, advanced cancer, chronic kidney/liver failure, advanced heart failure, or AIDS that were present before the trauma
