This trial tests a combination of drugs (bortezomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone) followed by a special cell therapy called CAR-T that targets a protein (BCMA) on cancer cells. It is for people with a rare and aggressive blood cancer called primary plasma cell leukemia who are not able to have a stem cell transplant.

Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 75 years old.
  • You have been diagnosed with primary plasma cell leukemia, meaning at least 5% of your blood cells are cancer cells.
  • Your cancer can be measured with a blood or urine test (like M-protein or free light chains).
  • You are not eligible for a stem cell transplant due to age, health, or other reasons.
  • Your bone marrow cells have a protein called BCMA that is targeted by the CAR-T therapy.
  • Your liver and kidney function, as well as blood counts, are within certain limits.
  • You are willing to take blood thinners to prevent clots during the study.
