Who can take part
- You are between 50 and 79 years old.
- You are scheduled for elective (non-emergency) mitral valve repair surgery, possibly with bypass or tricuspid repair.
- You do not have a history of atrial fibrillation (irregular heartbeat) or a pacemaker.
- You have not had previous heart surgery or an ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation.
- You do not have a weak heart pump, enlarged left atrium, severe mitral regurgitation, or active infections/autoimmune diseases.
