Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You have a pulmonary embolism confirmed by a CT scan, with a clot in a main or branching lung artery.
  • Your symptoms started within the last 14 days.
  • Your blood pressure is above 90 mmHg and your heart rate is 120 or lower.
  • You have not had a blood thinner (like Alteplase) given through a vein in the last 30 days.
  • You do not have a serious bleeding disorder or cannot take blood thinners.
