Pacemaker upgrade study for heart failure

This trial is for people with a standard pacemaker that stimulates the right ventricle most of the time. It tests whether a newer type of pacemaker (CRT) can improve heart function and symptoms. If you have a weakened heart (LVEF between 35-50%) and your heart failure has gotten worse, this study may be a good fit.

Who can take part

  • You have a pacemaker that paces the right ventricle more than 40% of the time
  • Your heart's pumping strength (LVEF) is between 35% and 50%
  • Your doctor has recommended upgrading to a special type of pacemaker (CRT) that helps the heart beat more in sync
  • You have had at least one sign that your heart failure has worsened since getting the pacemaker, such as a drop in your heart function, an increase in the heart size, higher fluid levels, less activity, or more symptoms
