Pacing to improve heart function study

This study tests a new way to pace the heart to see if it can improve how well the heart pumps. It uses a special Abbott pacemaker to pace a part of the heart called the left bundle branch and adjust the timing to match your natural heart rhythm.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your doctor has approved you for a pacemaker that paces both the upper and lower chambers or for a special heart failure pacing device (CRT).
  • You have a type of heart block called left bundle branch block (LBBB) or a delay in the heart's electrical signals (IVCD).
  • Your natural heart electrical signal (QRS) is 130 milliseconds or longer.
  • Your heart's own timing (PR interval) is 250 milliseconds or less.
