Who can take part

  • You are between 50 and 80 years old
  • You have symptoms of lumbar spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spine) that severely limit your walking and quality of life
  • Your doctor has confirmed the narrowing on imaging, and you have signs of an unstable spine (such as back pain with movement or a slipped vertebra)
  • You have tried other treatments (like physical therapy or medication) for at least 3 months without relief
  • You have not had any prior surgery on your lower back
  • You are generally in good health (ASA grade I or II, meaning no major medical problems)
