Who can take part

  • You must have been diagnosed with a sudden blood clot in your lungs (acute pulmonary embolism).
  • Your age should be between 18 and 80 years old.
  • Your clot must have been considered severe or high-risk (PESI class III, IV, or V, or sPESI score of 1 or higher).
  • You cannot have severe kidney disease (eGFR less than 30).
  • You cannot have serious liver problems.
  • You must be able to take blood-thinning medications (no medical reason to avoid them).
