Who can take part

  • You are between 20 and 75 years old.
  • You have knee pain that is worse than 4 on a 0-10 scale and have tried other treatments (like pain meds, physical therapy, or knee injections) for at least a year without lasting relief.
  • Your knee is not too bowed (bow-legged) or knock-kneed—the angle is less than 5 degrees.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is above 20 (enough fat tissue for the procedure).
  • You are not taking blood thinners (like aspirin, warfarin) or have stopped them at least 15 days ago.
