Measuring pressure in narrowed neck arteries during stenting

Carotid Artery StenosisCarotid Artery StentingStroke

Part of Brain & nervous system, Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This trial is testing a new way to measure pressure inside narrowed carotid arteries (the main arteries in your neck) during a procedure to open them with a stent. It may help doctors better understand how severe the blockage is and improve treatment.

  • You are at least 18 years old.
  • You are scheduled to have a procedure called angioplasty with stent placement to open the narrowed artery.
  • You agree to take part in the study and sign a consent form.

NCT07370246Recruiting
Carotid stenting for high-risk carotid surgery patients

This trial tests whether placing a stent in the narrowed carotid artery is a good option for people who are at high risk for the standard surgery (carotid endarterectomy). If you have significant blockages in your neck arteries and certain health or anatomical factors that make surgery riskier, this study may be for you.

Studying a new balloon procedure for calcified carotid artery disease

This trial tests a special balloon (IVL) to treat hardened plaque in the neck arteries that supply blood to the brain. It is for people who need a stent but whose previous balloon treatment did not work well.

Stenting for narrowed carotid arteries with a special balloon guide

This trial tests if using a balloon guide catheter during carotid artery stenting is safer and more effective than standard stenting. You may qualify if you have significant narrowing in your carotid artery and are a candidate for stenting.

NCT06959628Recruiting
Study of a new shunt system for carotid artery blockage treatment

This trial tests a special shunt system to protect your brain during carotid artery stenting. It may help people with severe blockages in the neck artery that supplies blood to the brain.

Ultrasound screening and treatment for artery disease

This study tests if using ultrasound to screen for blocked neck and head arteries can improve treatment plans for people getting heart artery stents. It aims to find hidden blockages and tailor therapy to reduce stroke and other risks.

NCT05539781Recruiting
Blood flow and brain function monitoring after carotid procedure

This trial studies how blood flow and brain function change after a carotid artery revascularization procedure (opening a narrowed carotid artery). It may help doctors understand what to expect after treatment, especially in people with significant artery narrowing.
